Imaging Systems Technology (IST) was founded in 1997. IST has grown from four employees in a 1,000 square foot business incubator to 22 employees in a 22,000 square foot building located on 1.5 acres.
In 2000, IST began development of flexible displays made with hollow gas encapsulated shells, called Plasma-shells™. Initially, the shells were spherical in shape. Today, IST now successfully manufactures Plasma-shells™ in many shapes such as right circular cylinder, square-hollow and hexagonal. The physical properties of the Plasma-shells™ permit them to be used in emitting, sensors and switches applications.
